Lyophilization or freeze drying is a process in which water is removed from a product after it is frozen and placed under a vacuum, allowing the ice to change directly from solid to vapor without passing through a liquid phase. This process, unlike conventional drying, does not break the molecular structure of the mushroom which better preserves its active compounds. The experience from lyophilized mushrooms is reported to be a distinctly different, clean, euphoric, and long-lasting. The Albino Penis Envy strain is a hybrid of Penis Envy (P.E.) and Albino PF, another Psilocybe Cubensis variety. It is a very potent variety, often reported to be the strongest of the PE variants. Our APE genetic has been tested with High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and found to have an average tryptamine content of 2.051%. We have also tested this variety using the PSILO-Q Test kit, the first ever home-use quantitative psilocybin testing kit. Results show that this variety contains well over 2% tryptamine content. By comparison, the average Psilocybe Cubensis mushroom contains between 0.6 and 0.8% tryptamine content.

It’s characteristics are similar to Pe, and It’s coloration reflects its potency, as many mushrooms are heavily bruised blue (a function of higher psilocin content). APE mushrooms drop very few spores and therefore are difficult to propagate from spore. This, along with increased potency makes them a rare and desirable strain.
